A NEW THEME ~ journeying towards focused self-care…..

Today, November 14, 2021~ I am revisiting posting to my blog. Life and the lack of time and focus has caused me to be absent…SO HERE I AM-CATCH ME IF CAN~ CAUSE OFTEN I AM HERE TODAY AND GONE TOMORROW-ALBEIT TO PARTS UNKNOWN!!!!! Life has been full, busy, hard, good, even ground at times and very often with what seems ~like boulders dropped upon the path of my journey. Let me stop right here~ for fear you will sense this to be a poor me~ kind of post. Let me assure you that’s not my purpose, because it's not even buried there in my heart !!  Whew, I just heard someone breathe ~ a sigh of relief!  What? You say that was actually me?  Well, perhaps it’s true for both of us~ or true for all of us !   Let me also be ~ up front and center ~ honest with you about my writing style ~ it is most important that I  **warn you…I play raquet ball with thoughts , as I sit and write….just my way, my style ~ actually I’ve not had to practice this stroke at all ~it just comes na...

FYI and just a random post for you!

Do you have ........ While cleaning a cupboard today (might I add it really needed it)--I ran across this nugget of info.....thought some of you might find it useful. It was from network DIY--but not sure of the author: TOP TEN USES FOR WHITE VINEGAR 1) Cleaning drains...pour1/2 cup baking soda in the drain, follow by 1/2 cup vinegar: the mixture will foam as it cleans and deodorizes. use every few weeks to keep drains clean. 2) Mildew on plastic shower curtains. Put the shower curtain in the washer with light colored towels: and 1 cup white vinegar to the detergent and wash 3) Soap scum on shower. Spay on vinegar, scrub and rinse. 4) Toilet bowl- hard water rings. Shut off water at the tank and flush to remove as much water as possible. Spray vinegar on the ring, sprinkle in borax and scrub with drywall sandpaper. 5) Shower head deposits. Pour white vinegar into a plastic bag, tape to the shower head and leave overnight. Brush the shower head...

What’s the worth of a GOOD intention ?

Image
Over coffee the other morning The Inn Keeper and I talked about our battle with the syndrome of- "Good Intentions". How, in this life we can be overflowing with all the best of good intentions--- YET, often that can be the beginning and the end of them. Sadly, we had to admit to ourselves and each other- that all too often this was our shared state. I was left with a question that I mused over for some time..and I extracted a few firm answers as a result of all this well "spent mental energy ." I would like to share them with you, if I may! Could it be that:    I am not realistic about the "all" of what I can accomplish?                                                                OR                                   Is it that I ...

Winter’s beauty- ARBOR’S VIEW

Image
YOU’VE GOT TO LOVE WINTER OR SOME PARTS AT LEAST..AGREED? With the exception of 8 years, I have lived my whole-very long life - on one hillside or another, here in Vermont. But this hillside, with this view, is gift - just pure gift!  We built our home 43 years  ago , right here in this meadow’s edge..with only one visible neighbor....and relatives at that.  Interestingly enough, we did the unexpected, in that we did not rotate  our home to face the road-as most would  have expected us to do.  I mean, you have to see the logic in our choice correct? Never, have we regretted that choice.   It has seemed privilege, both to live on this quiet hillside ( not for long though- spring will find us with 2 new neighbors—check back with me mid-July to see how I am doing, ok?  If you choose to journey along with me thru this blog-you will soon discover that simple things like shadows, clouds, flowers and the like captivate my focus and tickle my heart! ...

Random nuggets

Today I ran accross some real nuggets that have inspired me over the years---I want to share them with you now. When the child of God.. Looks into the Word of God.. And sees the Son of God.. Then he changed by the Spirit of God.. In the image of God.. For the glory of God. Author Unknown Another is a quote from Plato: "The un-examined life is one which is not worth living." I have over the years gone in and out of looking at my past, present and even into my future(...knowingly aware that I am blinded by my humanity...yet I try. I know that only my Heavenly Father knows and sees my future and my days will be as He establishes them to be. Actually trusting Him with my future erases a large portion of my anxiety about what comes next in my life. I have been on a journey called 'recovery' from the pain of my past.... it goes as far back as my earliest childhood memories. The work is often very challenging....feeling the pain that has been suppresse...

Gifts....

Image
Let me ask you a personal question if I may. Would you rather give a gift or receive a gift? Odd question you say? Well is it really? Most would say that's a no-brain-er.....to receive a gift is better than to give a gift...right? Perhaps this is true for lots of folks..but for me I so enjoy giving gifts...especially gifts I make specifically for a "specific" reason. Take this lap quilt it's sweet, it's big blocks, not special piecing with the tricky points..half square triangles...on point..no real mitered corners~just a sweet large block lap quilt made with London Lawn fabrics. Are you impressed with my quilting jargon? Please don't be, I am an "intermediate~ intermediate" if you will. Which is my self made label for not a beginner but yet not with the experience of an intermediate quilter~one who is many quilts away from being advanced in their quilting abilities. Certainly, I am many quilts away from entering something in a quilt s...

Here begins-the re-birthing of my somewhat neglected blog—perhaps started a full decade ago-and with only a hint of a drop in by me, recently. This is my view, and this was an early morning sunrise...treasure to me each day...is what awaits me on the other side of the window blinds!!! So if you choose - to journey along with me -you will be convinced -along with me-that this view is never ho-hum-but  it always captivates both the eye and the heart!!! The label for this particular blog post will be ‘THE VIEW FROM THE ARBOR’.... THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

A rebirthing of an old blog...Happy St. Patricks Day 2021

Hi to all passing thru...I am back and eager to compose...BUT before I do so, I am wanting to make sure I am on the right path....so wait for a time to see if I made it or not!!
