Where was I ?





So I think I was talking about the different tools available for the cultivating of both one's garden and/or soul.
I do have a favorite garden tool....it is light weight, specific for the job it is designed to accomplish...and because of it's design, I am able to save myself from uneccessay stress and strains.
Also must "haves" for cultivating the garden are: protection for the feet, I must have boots to not only keep my feet dry but also to keep them protected from any "critters" that I might encounter upon my way.
Gloves are worth every penny I have invested in them as I can work the soil yet, my hands are kept clean ready for cleaner jobs.......
A well sharpened pair of pruners that fit you hand and are comfortable to use are essential for every keeper of the garden.
So there it is a list of " my favorite garden tools".........now on to my favoroite tools for cultivating my soul.......

As I continued to think on the similarities between cultivating ones soul or ones garden....I realize that we have many different types of tools to accomplish the task at hand.......for example, as we cultivate the garden we will need a few to several tools to help us achieve the desired results. Every gardener will find one tool in particular that they will favor over another. But there will always be that "one weed or problem area" that will require yet a more specific weapon for the destruction of that tenacious weed......if after an honest try the gardener fails then perhaps it is time to "ask" for help. Gifts....

Let me ask you a personal question if I may. Would you rather give a gift or receive a gift? Odd question you say? Well is it really? Most would say that's a no-brain-er.....to receive a gift is better than to give a gift...right? Perhaps this is true for lots of folks..but for me I so enjoy giving gifts...especially gifts I make specifically for a "specific" reason. Take this lap quilt it's sweet, it's big blocks, not special piecing with the tricky points..half square triangles...on point..no real mitered corners~just a sweet large block lap quilt made with London Lawn fabrics. Are you impressed with my quilting jargon? Please don't be, I am an "intermediate~ intermediate" if you will. So what makes a heart sing?

" DO WHAT MAKES YOUR HEART SING" So when you read this statement what is the first thing that comes to mind? I purchased a sign many years ago with that thought provoking little statement ...it's meaning touched a deep place within me. At the time I could have given you a list to include many things that made my heart sing. I can still remember how I felt when I spotted this sign in one of my "favorite gift shops". I knew I had to own it! I know you know exactly what I mean...be honest :-0) Ok then, perhaps not a sign like this- but something of equal "heart stirring" significance!
